The most delicious, light, and fluffy gluten free cinnamon apple blondies with an addicting maple cream cheese frosting!

You would NEVER know these are gluten free- the texture is absolutely to die for! None of that dry and grainy gluten free nonsense over here ;). These blondies are moist and perfectly sweet, and just full of fall flavors.

This recipe is based off my gluten free apple loaf, one of my all time favorite things to bake come fall.

I just love these blondies paired with the maple cream cheese frosting. It’s the perfect match with the cinnamon cake base and the tiny diced fresh apples! SO delicious.

The base of the blondies is gluten free by using:

  • Oat flour
  • Almond flour
  • Tapioca flour (sometimes labeled as tapioca starch)

This combination of flours yields a soft, fluffy cake texture that could 100% pass as not being gluten free!

You could also keep this dairy free using vegan butter and vegan cream cheese!

The most perfect fall treat to make when you’re in the cozy baking mood! These gluten free cinnamon apple blondies are absolutely delicious, and I cannot wait for you guys to make them! Enjoy! xo

Description

Moist and fluffy cinnamon apple blondies with a delicious maple cream cheese frosting!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 + 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup oat flour
  • 1/3 cup tapioca starch (aka tapioca flour)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced into bite-sized pieces (Gala or Honey crisp is best!)

For the maple cream cheese frosting

  • 4 tbsp butter, room temp
  • 4 oz cream cheese, room temp
  • 1/31/2 cup powdered sugar, depending on preferred sweetness
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8″ pan with parchment paper (tip: spray the loaf pan first to help the parchment lay flatly).
  2. In a large bowl whisk the almond flour, oat flour, tapioca starch, coconut sugar, cinnamon, baking soda and powder, and sea salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the remaining wet ingredients together, then mix into the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms. Fold in the peeled and diced apples.
  4. Pour batter into your lined baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to completely cool before frosting.
  5. While blondies cool, make your frosting by beating all ingredeints together with a hand mixer until smooth. Spread onto cooled blondies, sprinkle with cinnamon, slice and enjoy!
