A very much requested list of some of my favorite vintage shops in the Chicago suburbs ! Keep in mind, we just moved to the burbs a few (ish) months ago, so my list is ever-growing! I will definitely continue to update this list as I scope out the antique scene for you all! Happy thrifting!!! xo

  • Antiques of Winfield – I’ve had a lot of luck at this one for vintage books, baskets, art, and shelf decor! This one is a big 3 story antique shop with different booths, which is always so nice for more organized browsing! Another reason I love going here is because it’s across the street from 2 other vintage/resale shops (listed below) so you can make it a fun little trip!! There’s a Thai place or a deli right nearby to grab some lunch, too!
    • Antique + Chic (Winfield) – right across the street from Antiques of Winfield. Another 3 story shop that’s fun to look around!
    • Rejoice Resale (Winfield)– in the strip mall up the street from the other two shops. This one is small and I haven’t personally bought anything here, but also worth checking out when you’re already in the area!
  • Happenstance Vintage (North Aurora)– This one has been one of luckiest for good finds! They have everything from art and ceramics to big pieces of furniture, which isn’t super common in vintage shops! My mom bought a big piece of art here as well as some arm chairs, and I’ve found a lot of art, books, baskets, etc. here! Give yourself some time to browse this one- it has a lot of different booths!
  • Past & Present Shoppes (North Aurora)– This one is tiny but very close to Happenstance, so worth the stop when you’re in the area! I found a really gorgeous antique mirror here!
  • Warehouse 55 (Batavia)– About a 15 minute drive from Happenstance, so I usually stop by both! A really nice shop to browse! They have a cozy sitting area in the front if you’re with someone that may not want to keep shopping haha. Be sure to go to the new location- the old location is still listed on google but is closed!!
  • Treasure House (Glen Ellyn)– I love this one because they also have some great consignment clothing pieces! Plus, downtown Glen Ellyn is super cute to walk around and shop/eat!
  • Gather & Collect (Glen Ellyn)– A couple doors down from Treasure House! A few vintage booths in the back of the store!
  • Sign of the Whale Antiques (Glen Ellyn)– More expensive pieces but an easy walk from the other 2 shops!
  • Resale Connection (Downers Grove)– Love this shop! It’s hard to miss in a strip mall right next to the Dunkin’. I’ve had some really great finds here for house decor, as well as holiday decor!
  • State Street Market Shops (Elgin)– Really cool booths to browse! Got an adorable antique children’s table and chairs here! They have a spot in the back to sit and drink their free coffee which I loved! Always nice to have when you bring the hubby, too!
  • Affordable Antiques & More (Naperville)– This one is really big with tons of booths!!
  • Jackson Square Antiques (La Grange)– I love this one! Such a nice, organized big shop. Unfortunately, it is apparently being torn down in the near future for apartment buildings. I am SO bummed to hear that. Definitely make your way there while you can!!
  • The Perfect Thing (Wheaton)
    • This store is higher-end consignment furniture, so the prices can definitely be high. I found a gorgeous painted antique dresser here, but would just recommend this spot for bigger/nicer pieces! Note, I was able to ask for a lower price on the dresser since it had been sitting for a bit. Doesn’t hurt to ask! There’s a cute shop next door called Stonehouse Market to pop into, too!
