If there’s one thing every parent knows, it’s that toddlers loveeee a good snack. But I’m always on a mission for ones that will actually help fill their bellies and are not loaded with sugar. Enter my new go-to recipe: mini chocolate chip muffins. They’re soft, fluffy, and perfectly bite-sized for little ones. Plus, the recipe makes a big batch, making them a lifesaver for busy mornings or preschool lunchboxes.

Mini muffins strike that sweet balance between treat and snack. They fit neatly in small hands and aren’t overwhelming or messy (yes, please). These muffins are lightly sweetened with a little honey and ripe bananas, full of wholesome ingredients, and speckled with just enough chocolate to make them feel special for your little ones!

I love that you can toss a couple into a snack cup and head out the door. They also double as a quick breakfast option—just add some fruit and yogurt on the side, and you’re set!

  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
  • ½ tbsp vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 1 + ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¾ cup mini chocolate chips
