The most delicious Instant Pot Bolognese Pasta Sauce!
Ingredients

*Makes enough for about 1 lb of pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 large carrot, diced
- 1 rib of celery, diced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 2–3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1 (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes (be sure to use one like this or this, not the watery kind)
- 1/2 cup low sodium beef broth
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 cup whole milk (skip for dairy free)
For serving
- Fresh parsley
- Shaved parmesan
Instructions
- Turn Instant Pot to sauté on HIGH. Add the olive oil, onion, carrot, and celery. Allow to cook, stirring occasionally, for 7 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, ground pork, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Continue to sauté while breaking up the meat for 3-4 minutes, until mostly no longer pink.
- Stir in tomato paste and garlic. Cook for 1 minute, the add the red wine and deglaze the bottom of the pan. Allow to simmer for 3 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, parsley, and bay leaves. Bring to a simmer, the secure the Instant Pot lid and set to PRESSURE cook on HIGH for 20 minutes.
- Quick release the steam, remove the lid and discard the bay leaves. Set back to sauté on LOW for 5- 10 minutes to thicken the sauce to your liking. Remove from heat and stir in the whole milk. Serve with pasta of choice, fresh parmesan, and more parsley.
